Took my gran to a 'ladder' match at Cheltenham Town Hall. A purse was suspended above the ring, to win the wrestlers had to get a step ladder, put it up in the middle of the ring and climb up for the money. Great fun. My gran was so embarrassing, never heard such swearing before.

Used to love watching this with my Nan on a Saturday afternoon, always hoping that Nagasaki (the real one) would be unmasked.
I missed the one where he actually was ... GUTTED !!

Don't know most of these names but I understand
Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid started on ITV before Stu Hart scooped them up and trained them in his Dungeon.
Some of my earliest TV memories were the likes of them on our little black and white on Saturday afternoons.

I got Bert Royal's autograph once while he was queuing for food between bouts at Margate Winter Garden. He had a brother called Vic, who I read died in 2017.
